![]() ![]() ![]() Now, for some reason, when I make a test call, Skype is only using my USB headset for microphone, but is NOT using my USB headset speakers to play the voice on the other end of the call. PulseAudio did go ahead and autospawn even after I appended "X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=60" to the end of 'sktop' (I never did figure out how to delay it), but Skype 4.1 seemed to automatically recognize my USB headset, and everything was miraculously working as it should! Skype 4.1 was using my USB headset for microphone & speakers on calls, and all other sounds (login, logout, ringing) were playing through my computer speakers! This was great! I thought the problem was solved. OK, then I started trying to figure out how to delay the spawning of PulseAudio at startup until AFTER Skype had loaded (which I had using ALSA and had everything set individually). ![]() Before, I had fixed it to where PulseAudio did not "autospawn" at startup, and had created 2 launchers under "Sound" that would turn PulseAudio on when I wanted to watch a DVD in Totem (apparently for some reason Totem now requires PulseAudio to play DVD's in 12.04 LTS). Recently I reinstalled my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
